The Interim Review of the Queensland Decarbonisation Hub provides a timely assessment of progress at the mid-point of its three-year funding period. It confirms that the Hub’s founding purpose—to connect research expertise with real-world decarbonisation challenges—remains valid and strongly supported. To deliver on its potential, the Hub must now shift from broad ambition to focused, high-impact delivery.
The review outlines a clear roadmap until the end of 2026, centred on four strategic focus areas:
- Support Government Decarbonisation Planning
- Deliver the Remote and Rural Regions Priority Project
- Translate and Synthesise Research
- Map and Mobilise System Capability
These focus areas are supported by seven strategic imperatives and a set of delivery enablers, including refreshed governance, targeted communications, and improved internal coordination. Together, they position the Hub to move from promise to proof, delivering visible value through timely insights, stronger partnerships, and inclusive collaboration.
Overall, the review calls for sharper focus, greater agility, and clearer messaging to establish the Hub as a trusted knowledge broker at the centre of Queensland’s climate response. We'll be developing action plans and strategies over the coming weeks to refine the Hub's priorities and goals for the remainder of the funded term.
