Queensland Decarbonisation Hub Forum – Update
We’re disappointed to share that the Queensland Decarbonisation Hub Forum, originally scheduled for November in Townsville, will not be going ahead in its planned format.
While we received strong interest in the program, a number of key contributors and attendees have let us know that the timing of this year’s Forum has clashed with several other major events across the sector. Rather than proceed with a reduced program, we’ve decided to pivot towards a new series of activities that retain the core intent of the Forum, connecting researchers, industry, government, and communities to accelerate Queensland’s transition to net zero, with a particular focus on what is happening in Queensland’s regions.
What’s Next
The key features of the 2025 Forum will continue in a refreshed form:
- Net Zero State of Play (November/December, 2025): A Hub webinar will bring together different representatives and experts to explore the evolving policy landscape across Queensland and the Commonwealth, mapping the latest developments in sector planning and transition strategies.
- Regional Workshop (Townsville, February 2026): A dedicated in-person workshop will focus on shaping a dedicated Remote and Rural Regions Hub Research Project.
- Research Showcase (March 2026): The Hub will host a Hub Research Showcase to provide an update and outcomes from the Hub’s 2025 research projects.
These new activities will allow us to build on the original Forum themes while providing more targeted opportunities for participation and impact. Further details on each of these events will be posted in due course.
Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at one of these events next year.
